Quality
Quality contractors will take the time to explain their budget proposal, and help guide you through the estimate process. Be wary of an abnormally low bid, they are not worth the risk. These underpriced projects often do not end well for the homeowner, choose a contractor you trust and can clearly communicate with.

We had been misled of what was portrayed as standard options. This home price with basic items similar to model exceeded our ability to purchase given the excessive upgrade costs. A refund of the good faith deposit provided as no permits have submitted to Osceola County permit center to date. Another issue is they seemed to have caused damage to my house as well as my husband brand new 2018 truck. We have provided an estimate mid-April.

If you are an Heirloom resident, please contact me if you want to help make things right. Their solution is to hope that the association can work with the county to get more parking permitted along Esencia Dr. In other words, this is someone else’s problem. And, surely, to hope the owners don’t get together and sue them for misrepresentation .

So we called CalAtlantic to get an update. They seemed surprised that nobody had been out to open up the wall and dry it out, which seems to be the consensus on how you handle water penetration situations. In any case, they sent out a few workers from a company to open up the walls. You can see pictures of all this in the Photos area. 45 cars…26 spots…granted, I was actually a math major, but I’m guessing you don’t have to be one to see the problem.

CalAtlantic not only knew about the problem but actually created it and then misrepresented the situation to prospective buyers. We purchased a Standard Pacific home in 2011 as the first owner. We are now in the process of selling this home and after the inspection it was revealed that there are serious issues with the Stucco/EIFS.

I can only assume they, like many companies, have structured their incentive packages for executives in such a way to ensure their focus is on the stock price of the moment. If they cared about long term value, they would be focused on keeping their customers safe – and preventing the lawsuit that are sure to arise in the coming years from serious injuries from these doors. Funny that they never thought to show the map to me when I inquired about parking along Esencia Dr during the sales process. Did I mentioned the dishwasher wasn’t properly secured to the cabinetry and nearly fell on top of me when I pulled the top drawer out after it had completed a cycle?
CalAtlantic has an overall rating of 2.9 out of 5, based on over 33 reviews left anonymously by employees. 50% of employees would recommend working at CalAtlantic to a friend and 44% have a positive outlook for the business. Worse, many more issues have come up since the walk through, some quite serious. None of us were made aware by CalAtlantic that the locations where they directed us to park were no longer legal parking spaces. Their staff walked past and in many cases to our properties, interacted with us on a regular basis – any of them could have mentioned it to us.
ComplaintsBoard.com is a leading complaint resolution website on the Internet. We have had trouble with CalAtlantic Homes since we started our contract. Our builder has done a phenomenal job with our home, but due to restrictions from corporate I feel like he has to play the game and he can only do what they allow him.
We had issues with our air conditioning unit right from the start, and after multiple attempts to get them to make... Floor is carpeted, so can not tell if water is originating from a busted pipe in wall , or from underneath floor. Nothing was spilled on floor; concerned about mold setting in. Flexibility, salaried income, family environment, location, food, monthly bonus structure and a laptop (if you're lucky)!
Trust me, there will be a lot of things that you will discover defective after you have lived in the house that was even inspected by a third party home inspector prior to closing. We were hoping to get answers to these and other questions from Cal. Instead of getting answers, Cal had an attorney send letters that denied any responsibility and, without having visited the house, denied that there was anything wrong with the house. The amazing thing is that the cost we paid to fix the framing and structural issues noted by the inspectors/engineers was probably not much more than how much it cost Cal to have an attorney send letters.
Kind of difficult to improve your compensation at regular intervals. They reassured us the whole time that the house is under warranty and they want to make this a fantastic experience for us. CalAtlantic has said they would address this issue for us several times; however, we’re quickly approaching a year and nothing has been done so that appears to be an empty promise. Yes, we can get hot water in a bit under 4 minutes if we turn on the hot water tap of the bathtub but it is still minutes before hot water arrives and all that water is still going straight down the drain. I wonder how the Board and CalAtlantic shareholders will feel when they hear this story.

Our free bidding system will get you quotes from Calatlantic Homes and 2 other top contractors. Terrible executive management, no medical benefits, mediocre pay., long hours. The next sign of problems was that CalAtlantic had to reschedule the walk through date from 4/22 to 4/29, the day we were set to close. Obviously this meant there would be no time for them to address any concerns coming out of the walk through prior to our move in date. I’m left to conclude CalAtlantic executives care more about their short-term numbers.

An easy fix but clearly a quality control problem that again resulted in a several day spell of no heat over the Christmas holiday. Regardless of how you report issues, you will not likely have any convenient way to track the status of whatever you reported. The online system sends an email confirming receipt of your reported incident, but that’s it. I can’t find previous requests to figure out how they are progressing. There doesn’t seem to be a way to poke them when something doesn’t seem to be moving along.
